Deck Installation Instructions
Railings with Pre-drilled Rail
Step 1. Set newel posts to accommodate pre-drilled rail length. (available in 71 ½” or 95 ½”).
Step 2. Center pre-drilled rail between newel posts and trim equal amounts from each end of top and bottom rails.
Step 3. Attach bottom rail to newel posts. Screw the Rail Hanger bracket to the rail and then to the post. Use 2x4 blocks under rail to get desired height from deck.
Hint: Opening of bracket must always be up.
Step 4. With high quality caulking, fill all holes in pre-drilled rail halfway (to protect from moisture) and insert baluster into rail.
Step 5. Install top pre-drilled rail by aligning balusters with holes at one end and push down firmly as you travel down the length of the rail until all balusters are securely placed into holes. Ensure rail is level. Fasten rail to newel post.
Step 6. Attach cap rail (sold separately.)
Stair Installation Instructions
Step 1. Lay rail across nosing of stairs. Center pre-drilled rail, mark it where it crosses the post and draw a line vertically. This will give you the appropriate end cut to fit between the posts.
Step 2. Attach bottom rail to newel posts.
Hint: Use 2x4 block under rail to get desired height from deck.
Step 3. With a high-quality polyurethane construction adhesive, fill all the holes, in the top and bottom rails, half way. Push the wider end of the Angle Adaptor into the pre-drilled holes. Push balusters over Angle Adaptors on bottom rail. Angle Adaptors are made to fit standard stair angles.
Hint: Make sure Angle Adaptors are facing the right direction, top opposite to bottom.
Step 4. Install top pre-drilled rail by aligning balusters with Angle Adaptors. Push down firmly as you move along the rail, until all balusters are securely in place.
Step 5. Attach cap rail (sold separately).
