Yakima ’s hidden clip system allows for a clean, professional installation free of visible nail or screw heads. Yakima decking clips are constructed of 1.0 mm thick dacron coated steel.

Clips should be attached to joists in perfectly parallel lines. Center the clips 5 3/4” to 5 7/8” (147-149mm) apart to create a 3/16” to 1/4” gap (5-6mm) between boards. This will allow water and dirt to be cleaned out from between the boards and allow for any expansion in the planks.

Each clip has 3 holes, use the center hole to line the clips with the center lines and attach with two corrosion resistant screws. Once the clips have been laid out the deck board will simply snap over the clips and be held firmly in place.

Another method of installation would be to slide the board over the clips,  guide the board lengthwise over the installed clips, and squeeze the clips as you go.  This requires less pressure on the clips than snapping the boards over them.

For 16" O/C framing each lift of 12' decking requires approx. 10 boxes of clips, each lift of 16' decking requires approx. 13 boxes of clips.
